Cyclists set to take part in Maglia Rosso route

There’s still a few places available for women cyclists to take part in a ride along rural roads in West Suffolk.

The event, which is taking place tomorrow, Wednesday, May 18, begins at 10am from the Maglia Rosso Cycle Shop & Café, at the Old Metcalfe Arms, in Lawshall Road, Hawstead.

It’s a five-mile route and is ideal for anyone who has never cycled before and wants to give it a go or those who have not ridden in awhile and are a little rusty or seasoned cyclists who want a social ride and meet other like minded ladies.

The distance will vary according to participants between five and 10 miles.

Participants are being asked to wear helmets, ensure their bike is road worthy and that their tyres are inflated to the correct pressure. They must also bring a puncture repair kit or inner tubes, bike pump or CO2 gas cannisters, appropriate clothing, and drink for journey.

There is a “no drop” policy, everyone on ride stays together as a group and encourages those who may need a little extra help.
