Bail extended for man arrested in connection with murder investigation

A man arrested in connection with a murder investigation in Bury St Edmunds has had his bail extended.

Officers were called at 3pm on Tuesday, April 26, following reports of a fatal stabbing at a car park in Harland Court, off Station Hill.

Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the deceased has been identified as Karl Skoulding, aged 43, from Bury St Edmunds.

A 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder was released on bail until Sunday, May 22, pending further enquiries.

His bail has now been extended to July 26 to answer at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.

Police believe that the parties involved were all known to one another.

A second victim, a female aged in her 40s, was due to be released from hospital yesterday (May 23) afternoon.

Detectives continue to appeal for any witnesses to the attack and would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Harland Court between 2pm and 3pm.
