Man who died in two-vehicle collision named by police
A man who died following a serious road traffic collision on the A14 westbound at Woolpit has been named by police.
Officers were called at just after 1.30am on Tuesday, June 14, to reports of a two-vehicle collision between Haughley and Woolpit, involving a white Audi A3 and a lorry parked in a layby.
Ambulance and Suffolk Fire and Rescue crews were also in attendance and the driver of the Audi was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, where he later sadly died.
Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the deceased has been identified as Stuart Austin, aged 39, from Stowmarket.
Mr Austin’s family have asked us to issue the following tribute on their behalf: “Stuart was a loving father, son, brother and uncle and will be dearly missed.”
