Woman found dead in River Brett in Hadleigh

The body of a woman has been found in Hadleigh.

At approximately 4.20pm yesterday, Wednesday, June 29, members of the public reported that a body had been found in the River Brett, near Dukes Street.

Police, fire and ambulance crew attended the location but the woman was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

It is believed that the body found was of a woman in her 90s who was reported as missing earlier that morning.

The death is being treated as unexplained at this time but police do not currently believe there are any suspicious circumstances.

Next of kin have been informed and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
