Six people hurt after four vehicle crash in Long Melford

Six people were hurt following a four-vehicle collision on the A1092 in Long Melford.

The incident occurred at approximately 3.30pm yesterday, Tuesday, July 19, and involved a silver Ford Fiesta, a black Vauxhall Zafira, a black Peugeot and a red Ford Fiesta.

Police, fire and ambulance crew all attended the scene.

The driver of the silver Ford Fiesta, a man aged in his teens, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, by air ambulance having sustained serious leg injuries.

A further five people sustained injuries and attended West Suffolk Hospital, in Bury St Edmunds, for treatment, however these injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.

The road was blocked between Cranmoregreen Lane and the B1066 to allow for an investigation to take place and reopened by 6.50pm.
