Man charged in connection with a number of vehicle crimes in Haverhill

A 39-year-old man from Haverhill has been charged in connection with a number of vehicle crimes.

At 10.15pm on Monday, July 25, police received reports of people believed to be trying car door handles in the vicinity of Colbeck Road.

Officers arrived at the scene within a matter of minutes and stopped and searched a suspect, who was then arrested and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Lee Holland, of Cambridge Way, has subsequently been charged with three offences as follows: two counts of theft from a motor vehicle on May 10 (occurring in Forest Glade and Mullein Gardens, in Haverhill); and one count of theft from a motor vehicle occurring between July 20 and July 25, in Little Wratting.

Holland appeared before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday, July 27, where he was remanded in custody pending a hearing at Ipswich Crown Court on Wednesday, August 24.
