Balaclava-clad robbers target Clare Post Office

Thieves wearing balaclavas have targeted Clare Post Office and stole a quantity of cash during a robbery yesterday, Wednesday, August 3.

Police were called at approximately 4.45pm after two males were reported to have entered the building on Well Lane wearing balaclavas and threatened staff with an unknown object before demanding money from the till.

A quantity of cash was then stolen from the till and the suspects reportedly left in a vehicle, believed to be black or grey in colour and possibly a BMW.

A staff member sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Witnesses or anyone who was driving in the area with dashcam footage who may have seen suspicious activity, or information that could help the inquiry is asked to contact CID at Suffolk Police, quoting crime reference 37/49603/22.
