Theatre Royal on the look out for young people to join their youth theatre group
The Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds has been selected to be part of the National Theatre’s Youth Festival
Connections is the National Theatre’s annual, nationwide youth theatre festival which champions the talent of young people.
This year, Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds Young Company (16 to 22-year-old Youth Theatre) is one of just 300 youth theatres from across the UK to take part.
Each year NT Connections commissions 10 new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the UK’s most exciting writers with the theatre-makers of tomorrow.
As a result, the theatre is looking for post GCSE students to join their youth theatre and have the chance to be involved in this opportunity.
This is a year-long festival which will give young people the chance to work with professional directors on newly commissioned plays written by professional writers.
The plays will be performed on the stage at both Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds and The Garage in Norwich. There is also an opportunity for selected youth theatres to go on to perform their play at The National Theatre next Summer.
No previous experience is necessary – this is a young, fun, dynamic group who enjoy theatre and performing.
Any post GCSE, 16 to 22-year olds who might be interested or would like to know more should contact engagement@theatreroyal.org
