A night of ‘Tango Passions’ at the Apex

“Strictly Come Dancing’s” Vincent Simone is set to head out on his first solo tour.

Having been seen several times at the Apex with his partner-in-crime Ian Waite, he returns to the venue on Saturday,  September 17, with his new show – “Tango Passions”.

The sexy, steamy, passionate show takes you on a journey through the smoky bars and dance halls of Buenos Aires, with tales of despair, lust and unrequited love told through the language of Argentine Tango music and dance.

Although his dance partner of over 25 years, Flavia Cacace, has retired from performing, Vincent wants to continue to bring his love for the Tango to the stage. He will be joined on this tour by Argentine Tango specialist Paula Duarte, who will be his leading lady.

Born into a family of professional dancers, Vincent, from the Puglia region of Italy, began teaching dance from the age of 12, moving to Guildford, Surrey when he was just 17 to continue teaching.

Masters of the Argentine Tango, Flavia and Vincent won numerous Ballroom, Latin and Argentine Tango competitions before joining the hit BBC show “Strictly Come Dancing” in 2006 as professional dancers.

Appearing in seven series of “Strictly”, Vincent reached the final in 2008 with pop star Rachel Stevens.

After leaving the show, he went on to co-create, choreograph and star in numerous productions with Flavia, including “Midnight Tango”, “Dance ’til Dawn”, “The Last Tango” and “Tango Moderno”, touring around the UK. They also completed two successful West End runs and received two Olivier Award nominations.

Featuring music from Astor Piazzolla and Gotan Project, his show will showcase the beauty and passion of this famous dance.

Vincent Simone’s “Tango Passions” is at the Apex, on Saturday, September 17, at 7.30pm, seewww.theapex.co.uk or ring 01284 758000 for more information or to book tickets.
