Body of man found in undergrowth near River Stour

The body of a man has been found in Great Cornard.

Police were called at approximately 3.10pm yesterday, Thursday, September 22, by a member of public reporting that a man had been found deceased in undergrowth near the River Stour, off Doves House Meadow.

Police, fire and ambulance crew attended. It is believed that the body found was of a man in his 40s who was reported missing on Wednesday evening, September 21.

The death is being treated as unexplained at this time but police do not currently believe there are any suspicious circumstances.

Next of kin have been informed and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
