Dozens attend Safari Networking event at West Suffolk College
Dozens of businessmen and women attended a Safari Networking event held at the West Suffolk College, in Bury St Edmunds, earlier today, Tuesday, October 11.
Guest speaker at the event, held in the Edmunds restaurant at the complex, was West Suffolk MP Matt Hancock who spoke on a variety of topics from Brexit to the Covid pandemic and the role of small businesses to the financial situation of the country.
He was also fired a series of questions from a variety of attendees including the excessive paperwork involved with exports and imports following Britain coming out of the European Union, the future of a government minister for small businesses, the lengthy legal requirements for people oversees coming to work in this country and if the UK will reach net zero by 2030.
Later people, who came from a wide cross section of businesses across West Suffolk, gathered for the networking section of the event where they were able to swap stories about their particular line of work with the hope of gaining contacts for possible clients and contracts.
Many of those attending the event, organised by the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, came from right across Suffolk and even further afield with one leaving just before 6am to travel from Buckinghamshire.
On arrival they were provided with tea, coffee along with bacon and sausage rolls.
