Vehicle suffers damaged roof after passing underneath footbridge

A vehicle suffered a damaged roof after passing underneath a footbridge in Haverhill.

The incident took place on Monday, May 22, on the A143 between 11.20am and 11.30am and police are appealing for witnesses in what they describe as criminal damage.

The victim was travelling along the A143 under the footbridge when they heard a loud bang on the roof.

Upon checking the vehicle, the victim discovered an approximately 50mm dent and gouge on the roof of their car.

Anyone who reported a similar incident, saw anything suspicious at the time on the A143 or knows who was responsible, should contact Suffolk police, quoting the relevant crime number: 37/29744/23
