THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN AS LIMEHOUSE LIZZY ROCK YOUR SOCKS OFF AT THE APEX

One of our favourite ever CD’s is the Wild One – the Thin Lizzy greatest hits compilation which was released in 1996, ten years after 36 year old lead singer Phil Lynott died, in tribute to the great rocker.
Sadly we never got to see them live but on Saturday night at the Apex in Bury St Edmunds we were treated to the next best thing when we went to see Limehouse Lizzy, a Thin Lizzy tribute ban that keeps the memory of Phil and his music very much alive.
The group has been around for 3 decades and the line up on Saturday was WAYNE ELLIS – Bass Guitar & Vocals GREG ALCOCK – Guitar JAMES ROBERTS – Guitar and RICH KIRK – Drums.
The group comes very close to replicating the unique sound of Thin Lizzy themselves
Their live reputation is widely known in the UK and even earned the group a “Live band of the Year” award from the prestigious Guitarist Magazine
They are a great band and treated the audience to all the classic tracks from various Thin Lizzy Albums. It was very loud, very heavy rock played very well by brilliant musicians featuring the real classics such as “Jail Break”, “The Boys are Back in Town”, “Parisienne Walkways”, “Dancing in the Moonlight”, “Don’t Believe a Word”, “Killer on the Loose, plus many many more and climaxing with the Thin Lizzy anthem Whiskey in the Jar
To coin a phrase from lead singer & guitarist Wayne Ellis, “Limehouse Lizzy (UK) is not just a Thin Lizzy tribute band it was formed to keep the memory of Phil Lynott alive”.
They are sure to be back at the Apex next year, if you love to rock don’t miss it
