Programme of half term activities for children in Babergh and Mid Suffolk
Children across the districts have a wide range of activities to choose from this half term thanks to a programme of events put together by Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils.
With everything from multi-activity holiday clubs to dance and football camps on offer, there’s something available to entertain every child.
There are also sessions for the family to get involved with, such as cooking in the park classes and family swim sessions.
Activities are running from Monday, October 28, to Friday, November 1, as part of a programme funded and coordinated by the district councils.
Laura Smith, cabinet member for Thriving Communities at Babergh District Council, said: “The half term can be an exciting time for children, but getting the time off work and high childcare costs can cause headaches for parents.
“With the HAF programme only running during the longer holidays, it’s important that we step in and do our bit to ease pressure on families”.
Free places are reserved for those who receive free school meals or those otherwise in need, but most sessions are available to be booked for a small fee.
Parents will need to check whether their child’s chosen activity includes a lunch and this can be done by reading the full information when booking a place using the Eequ platform.
Tim Weller, cabinet member for Environment, Culture and Wellbeing at Mid Suffolk District Council, added: “These half term activities would not be possible without the support of our partners, so I’d like to thank them all for helping us provide a great offering for children and their families this half term.
“We hope that, by taking part in these activities, children will be able to make some memories and perhaps even find a new favourite hobby.”
