Appeal for information after Christmas lights vandalised
Police are appealing for information after a series of criminal damage incidents where outdoor Christmas decorations have been damaged, primarily in the Mid Suffolk area.
The incidents took place between the evening of December 5 and 6.
In one of the incidents in Combs two men were seen to approach a property and cut Christmas lights wires.
CCTV showed one of the men cutting wires (see photo above). He was described as wearing a The North face jacket, with his face partially covered.
In another incident a person was seen leaving a property in Onehouse.
They were described as having dark hair, and wearing a light-coloured cap, with a light t-shirt and shorts and white trainers, with a leather bag with one strap around the body.
Officers are linking the incidents and investigations are ongoing. No arrests have been made.
PC Simon Lant said: “Why someone decided to carry out this period of mindless vandalism is not clear but it has brought hurt, as well as a financial cost, to many residents in the area, depriving those living and visiting in these areas of the colour and joy that these lights bring to people, young and old.
“If anyone has any information about who might be responsible, please contact police. Equally, anyone with CCTV or doorbell cameras in the affected areas are asked to review footage between 5pm and the early hours of December 6 for anything that may be relevant.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Suffolk Police, quoting the relevant crime number, as can be seen below, via:
