There’s plenty of revealing stories, informative talks, comedy and musical tales to be told at The Apex in spring.

Craig Revel Horwood, the longest-serving judge on “Strictly Come Dancing”, will reveal his own talent in a night of big songs, tall tales and glamour, while the following evening, “Strictly” stable-mate Anton Du Beke will entertain with another “fab-u-lous” evening of song, dance and laughter.

Comedy always proves popular; Josh Widdicombe and Chris McCausland have sold out, but there are still tickets available for Joanne McNally, Lou Sanders, Danny Baker (pictured above), and Persian comedy powerhouse Omid Djalili.

Clinton Baptiste, the hapless clairvoyant from Peter Kay’s “Phoenix Nights” will conjure up his extraordinary powers and all manner of spooky stuff.

Master of the spoken word, Lemn Sissay brings live readings from his books and unravels the stories of life and hope behind the poems. Fellow people’s poet, Pam Ayres brings two shows of warm poetry and stories.

Renowned biologist Merlin Sheldrake will bring fascinating insights into fungi’s profound impact on our world; he’ll also show the film “Fungi: Web of Life|” – a visually stunning film that uses jaw-dropping time-lapse cinematography.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of her bestselling book, “Labyrinth”, Kate Mosse will bring her characters to life in a tale of history and mystery.

Best known for Cast and The La’s, John Power plays an acoustic-based show of hits, alongside tales of the band’s Britpop years. Cast has recently been confirmed as a support act on the Oasis tour.

There will be more stripped-back music and revealing stories from Mike Peters, frontman of The Alarm and ABC’s Martin Fry.
