A total of £16,247 has been raised for Marie Curie following a charity golf day at the Stoke by Nayland resort.

It was organised by Taylor Wimpey East Anglia featuring more than 120 golfers and held on Tuesday, June 3.

Bryn Maidman, the managing director of the house builder; Susan Stitt, executive secretary and PA; and Katie Harper, Charity Committee chairman, presented the cheque to staff at Marie Curie.

With the money raised Marie Curie could cover a total of 706 hours of the charity’s Hospice at Home service.

Helen Chapman, the community fundraiser for Marie Curie in Norfolk and Suffolk, said: “The latest golf day was a great success, and we are hugely grateful for all the fantastic support we have received.

“It’s been a massive boost all around and we are so thankful for the continued support received from Taylor Wimpey, and the amazing individuals we had the pleasure of meeting at the golf day.”

Mr Maidman added: “It’s been fantastic to have the chance to support Marie Curie this year.

“As the UK’s leading end of life charity, the care they provide is truly remarkable and inspiring. We hope the money raised will make a real difference to continue the support for individuals living with terminal illnesses, and their family members.

“Thank you to everyone who contributed and took part in the golf day to make it such a great success.”
