Bank holiday festival takes visitors through 2,000 years of history
An ultimate day of time travel – which saw more than 2,000 years of history showcased in Suffolk – has been hailed a success.
A through the ages history festival was held at Kentwell Hall, in Long Melford, over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Kentwell’s renowned living historians helped bring the past back to life with everything from Neolithic hunting bands to the Home Guard and Suffolk Regiment from the Second World War.

A spokesman for Kentwell Hall said: “We were delighted to host a fantastic and stimulating Bank Holiday weekend of activities which saw visitors immersed in history and travel through time.
“Our skilled historians entertained throughout our buildings, gardens, farm and woodland and the Suffolk sunshine helped make the event a big success.”
Other eras covered included Bronze Age, Tudor, 17th Century music and dance, First World War, a film casting from the 1930s and punks from the 1980s.
