This coming Monday 10th June sees 2019 OVO Energy Women’s Cycle Tour coming to Suffolk with Stage 1 of the race.
Starting in Beccles it will go via Bury St Edmunds finishing at Stowmarket. Unfortunately it will mean restrictions to traffic movement around some of the villages Full details of the estimated timings for Stage 1 of the 157.6 km race route can be seen by clicking on the link below.
The route of the professional race will be managed by a temporary rolling road closure. This involves using a motorcycle escort team to temporarily hold traffic while the race passes. This reduces the impact of road closures on residents, schools and businesses. Police marshals will stop traffic at all junctions, including vehicle access 10 minutes before the lead car and the race convoy. It will take approximately 20 minutes to pass through each section/village.
