The Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds is collaborating with Our Bury St Edmunds on the Theatre Star Trail, part of the celebrations of the theatre’s 200th Anniversary Year.
Anyone who completes the trail will be in with the chance to win some prizes, which up until now have been shrouded in mystery.
To form the trail, 25 stars have been placed around Bury St Edmunds including British theatre legends such as Sir Ian McKellen, Dame Judi Dench and Sir Derek Jacobi; household treasures like Joanna Lumley, Gyles Brandreth and Roy Hudd; pantomime favourites Chris Clarkson, Britt Lenting and Ollie Mawdsley; and many more besides, all of whom have performed at the theatre, many on multiple occasions.
Participants are tasked with finding the locations all of the stars and writing down the names of the performers who appear on them, to be entered into the draw to win one of 10 prizes.
Two of the prizes are being provided by the theatre, the first is a pair of tickets to the upcoming pantomime, Peter Pan, including a personal tour of the theatre; the second is a pair of tickets to any season show at the theatre with a pre-supper at Côte Brasserie.
The other eight prizes are being provided by Our Bury St Edmunds, in the form of vouchers to spend in Bury town centre businesses. There’s one £100 voucher, one £50 voucher and six £25 vouchers, making a total of £300 on offer.
The trail leaflets, which also include the entry form, can be collected from the theatre or from various locations around the town, including the tourist information points.
Entries must be received at the BID Offices by Thursday, October 31.
