A teenager from Mildenhall has been arrested and charged in connection with three offences in Newmarket including possession of an offensive weapon, possession of drugs with intent to supply, and possession of noxious substance.
On Saturday, April 18, police received a report of suspected drug dealing activity in the area of the George Lambton playing fields at about 5.15pm.Officers swiftly attended the location and a male was seen to flee the scene.
Two officers pursued the suspect who was detained a short while afterwards. Items including cash, a bottle contained a clear liquid and a bag containing various drug wraps were recovered from a nearby bush. A man was arrested and he was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police investigation Centre for questioning.
Sorren Price, of Cobblers Court, in Mildenhall, was charged with possession of an offensive weapon, (namely a knuckle duster), possession of drugs with intent to supply, and possession of noxious substance, namely a bottle containing hydrogen peroxide.
He was remanded to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court today (Monday, April 20) and was remanded to appear before Ipswich Crown Court on Monday, May 18.
