Police name passenger who died in crash at Stoke Ash

A woman who died following a serious road traffic collision in Stoke Ash last week was today named by police as 27-year-old Katerina Kostadinova Kostadinova, from Ipswich.

Officers were called by the Ambulance Service at 5am on Monday, July 6, to reports of a collision on the A140 involving a silver Volkswagen Golf and a white Peugeot Boxer van, near to the junction with Church Lane.

Fire crews were also in attendance as they were required to extract the three occupants of the VW Golf and the driver of the Peugeot Boxer van, who was the sole occupant of that vehicle.

The rear seat passenger in the VW Golf died at the scene and subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, she has been identified as Katerina Kostadinova Kostadinova.

The male driver and male front-seat passenger of the VW Golf were both taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, where they currently still remain for treatment to serious injuries. The driver has sustained life-changing injuries and the passenger sustained serious injuries which are not currently believed to be life-changing.

The man who was driving the van was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital for treatment having also sustained serious injuries, which are not currently believed to be life-changing. He has now been discharged from hospital.

Any witnesses to the collision, or anyone driving in the area prior to it and who may have captured any dashcam footage, is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference CAD 48 of July 6.
