Three teenage boys have been arrested following an incident in Bury St Edmunds this evening.
Officers were called shortly after 6.40pm today, Tuesday, July 21, following reports that a male had thrown an unknown liquid in the face of a man – aged in his 20s – while he was in the car park in St Olaves Precinct, on the town’s Howard Estate.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the man was taken to hospital for treatment after he sustained minor injuries.
Three teenagers, aged 16, 17, 18, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and were taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
A cordon currently remains in place while further enquiries are carried out. The investigation is still at an early stage but police believe that the parties involved are known to each other and there is no wider threat to the community.
