Man to appear at Crown Court charged with drug offences in Sudbury

A man has been charged in connection with drug offences in Sudbury.

It follows an incident on Thursday, December 10, when police had cause to stop a male on Queen’s Road in the town and conduct a search of him and the vehicle he was driving under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Officers recovered a large amount of cash and five wraps of suspected cocaine. He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Edmond Shurbi, 34, of Bute Road, of Ilford was charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, December 12.

At court he pleaded guilty and was remanded to appear before Ipswich Crown Court for sentencing on a date to be confirmed.
