Sudbury school achieves Eco-Schools Green Flag status

A Sudbury primary school is celebrating after achieving Eco-Schools Green Flag status.

Pupils and staff at Woodhall Primary School were recognised with the prestigious award after taking part in a number of green initiatives.

Events included a “switch-off” fortnight and organised litter picks while there was a strong emphasis within the curriculum around plastic reduction, both at school and during remote learning.

Headteacher Matthew Fuller said: “We are absolutely thrilled to achieve this status and it is all down to the hard work of pupils and staff leading on the scheme. Even during these challenging times, it is important to focus on environmental issues and how our pupils can make an impact.”

The Eco-Schools Green Flag is an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning.
