Cinema continues with its ‘sci-fi’ film features

The Abbeygate Cinema, in Bury St Edmunds, has been playing “sci-fi” film titles recently during their “Rediscover” series every Sunday.

Now half way through the season, the final weeks give a rare opportunity to watch some classic titles up on the big screen.

Chris Peters, associate manager at the cinema in Hatter Street, said” “I was obsessed with ‘Close Encounters’ as a kid – I’ve only ever seen it on television. To have the chance to watch it on our Premier Screen gives me the goosebumps just thinking about it.”

This coming Sunday, April 24, there is the screening of “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and Sunday, May 1, has “Silent Running” with Sunday,May 8, featuring Danny Boyle’s “Sunshine”.

Chris said: “If you love a good sci-fi like we do, then these showings are a must. Grab a drink, grab your popcorn, take a seat and enjoy.”

The “Rediscover” seasons will continue throughout the year featuring different film genres.
