A mobile cinema is coming to the West Stow Anglo Saxon Village and Country Park next month to help celebrate “Sci-Fi & Action: Icons of Cinema” exhibition which is currently on show at Moyse’s Hall Museum, in Bury St Edmunds.

The Abbeygate Cinema is hitting the road and joining forces with “The Moving Cinema” for a unique cinematic experience for people visiting the site.

For over a decade Moyse’s Hall has displayed screen used props and costumes from some of the biggest franchises in movie and TV history as part of its Sci-Fi & Action exhibitions, with 2022 featuring more than ever seen before.

“The Moving Cinema” will be complementing this year’s exhibition from Thursday to Sunday, November 10 to 13, with screenings of some all-time favourite classic Sci-Fi features such as “The Wrath of Khan”, “Tron”, “Blade Runner”, “The Thing”, “E.T.” and “The Dark Crystal”.

There will also be some family favourites from the year including “Minions: The Rise of Gru”, “Sing 2” and “Enchanto”.

Designed and created by Toutenkamion in France “The Moving Cinema” is a purpose-built mobile cinema in the form of an HGV truck and is one of only three units in the UK.

Once parked and connected to an electrical supply, the specialist hydraulics extend the sidewalls of the trailer making the unit an extra 12ft wider.

With the cinema screen then swung into place, and partition walls unfolded into position, the trailer is now converted into a 100-seater, fully heated/ventilated/air conditioned and weather proof auditorium, that the audience enter and sit within in comfort.

So come along, sit down and settle back in comfort for a film going experience like no other courtesy of The Moving Cinema and The Abbeygate!
