Teenager arrested in connection with moped thefts

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a series of moped thefts in the Sudbury area.

Following a joint operation between Suffolk and Essex police a 16-year-old boy was arrested  today (Wednesday,  December 7).

He was taken toBury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and was subsequently released on police bail, pending further enquiries to answer on March 5.

The offences took place over a period of time between late September and  mid October where there were 11 reported cases of mopeds being stolen or damaged.

Officers are aware that there has been a keen interest on social media in regards to the incidents and officers from Sudbury Safer Neighbourhood Team have been working hard to collect evidence.
