Food service company, Infusions Group, based on the Rougham Industrial Estate, in Bury St Edmunds, have chosen My WiSH Charity as the beneficiaries of their fundraising for the next year.
The group, who also own the ICE Restaurant and ICE Cook School, have supported the local NHS charity before, raising over £7,000, but this particular year sees them aiming to raise money to buy a mobile interactive light and sensory unit for the West Suffolk Hospital’s paediatric emergency department.
My WiSH Charity, which enhance care for patients and support staff across the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, want to provide the unit (pictured above) to help young patients who visit the emergency department.
Sue Smith, head of fundraising for the charity, said: “We have already purchased one of these units for the Rainbow Ward and the feedback has been incredible. The unit has fibre optic lights and projector wheels which shine all sorts of images onto the wall. It’s a great tool to help create a calm space for young patients.”
John Jackaman, the owner of the Infusions Group explained: “It is a real privilege to work with Sue, Sally and the guys at My WiSH. Our team is passionate about this fantastic charity and supporting our local hospital – we have all needed the hospital at some stage and are really keen to do our bit to help.
“We have heard of the benefits of this piece of equipment in the children’s ward and would love to be able to help purchase one for the Accident and Emergency department. As always our customers from both Infusions and ICE have been incredibly supportive, helping us to raise funds and leaving generous donations. We have events planned throughout the year so keep an eye out for them and join us if you can.”
Sue added: “It’s always fantastic when companies choose us as their charity of the year. That time can mean donations really grow allowing us to do so much. We can’t thank John, Lou and the team enough for their dedication and support.”
