Man from Newmarket charged with drug offences

A man from Newmarket has been arrested and charged with drugs offences.

An amount of suspected Class A and Class B drugs were seized after a warrant was executed in the town on Wednesday, April 26, with another carried out in Cambridgeshire.

Following the warrants Jamilton Bastos, 23, of Weston Way, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A controlled drugs and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and was subsequently charged with both offences.

Bastos appeared before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, April 27. He was remanded by the court and is due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on May 25.
