Christmas Concert raises funds for BSE Women’s Aid

The Aquarius Singers (pictured above) are set to perform their Christmas concert this coming weekend.
It takes place at 7pm, on Sunday, December 10, at All Saints Church, in Park Road, Bury St Edmunds.
The 50-strong ladies’ choir will be raising funds for Bury St Edmunds Women’s Aid, a charity close to the choir members’ hearts, that runs the Bury Refuge for families affected by domestic abuse.
In the past 13 years, the Christmas concerts and sales of Aquarius Christmas cards have raised thousands of pounds for this local cause.
Nicholas Sheehan, the music director, said: “The music we are performing in our concert encapsulates the warmth of the Christmas season, through a range of musical genres and styles”
The singers will be accompanied by Jill Garrett and the choir will be joined by “A Melody of Harps” and ensemble of harpists led by Anne Chorley.
Of the concert, Women’s Aid said: “Everyone at the refuge, both new and old, offer our heartfelt thanks for the support of the Aquarius Singers, who bring Christmas joy, not only to the audience but the families we support through our work at Women’s Aid.”
The ticket price of £12 (£10 for students in full time education) includes refreshments, mulled wine or a soft drink and are available from Balaam’s Music, Risbygate Street, Bury St Edmunds or on the door. There will also be a raffle.
