Man from Sudbury jailed for series of offences including drug charges
A man has been jailed for series of offences in Sudbury, including possession of drugs.
Mirban Pasha, 34, (pictured above) of no fixed abode but from the Sudbury area, appeared at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, March 30, where he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs, namely cocaine; acquire/use/possess criminal property, namely a large quantity of cash, and use of a motor vehicle without third party insurance.
On Friday, July 12, at Ipswich Crown Court, he was sentenced to 28 months in prison for possession with intent to supply drugs. For possession of criminal property, he received a four-month sentence to run concurrently.
It follows an incident on Wednesday, March 27, when the West Kestrel proactive team had reason to stop and search him under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Further enquiries linked the suspect to an address where officers recovered a large quantity of class A drugs and over £8,700 in cash. The suspect was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where he was subsequently charged and remanded for three offences.
PC Jamie Self, of the West Kestrel team, said: “Our investigations of his phone found messages linking him to drug supply. We will continue to take robust action against those who deal drugs around the county. It should serve as a reminder to drug dealers considering Suffolk for their criminal business, it will be only a matter of time before the inevitable happens and we arrest, charge and convict you.”
