Police chief and PCC to host meetings to discuss policing in Suffolk

Police and Crime Commissioner Tim Passmore and Chief Constable Rachel Kearton are hosting a series of public meetings this autumn to talk about local policing and answer questions from the public.

Chief Constable Rachel Kearton said: “I always look forward to conducting this round of meetings with the PCC where we get to hear first-hand the issues that the public want to raise with us.

“Our new operating model for local policing has been in place for nine months now. The purpose was to strengthen community links with the public and ensure that our officers’ work is in line with the core mission of policing to tackle the crime and anti-social behaviour that most disrupt our communities.

“Early feedback has clearly shown that our new model has strengthened the way we engage with local communities and I am keen to hear if this remains the case by listening to the issues raised at these meetings, so please come along and have your say.”

Tim Passmore, Suffolk’s PCC, added: “Policing is such an important public service and it is imperative that the public have an opportunity to have their say. I do hope people will accept this invitation to come and find out more about policing in Suffolk.

“The Chief Constable and I will give an update on policing in the county and there will be ample opportunity to ask questions and make comments, if people wish to do so.

“We will be pleased to discuss any matter that arises, and we will have someone from the relevant community policing team to give more local insight if required.”

Meetings will be held across the county through September and October with an on-line meeting in November.
