Angel Hotel and Bildeston Crown get top listing for roast dinners

The Angel Hotel, in Bury St Edmunds, (pictured above) has been listed as having some of the county’s best roast dinners.

It is just one of two establishments in Suffolk to have gained recognition by the Muddy Stilettos lifestyle web site with the Bildeston Crown also mentioned.

The Angel Hotel is listed for its “all blue velvet banquettes and eye-catching art and has “jewel-coloured velvet chairs and sofas with pretty floral backs, squishy cushions, soft lighting, wooden floors and gilded touches.”

Demand for a roast dinner in the hotel is so high that the hotel has now opened up The Vaults downstairs to create more space. It boasts a trendy interior of exposed brick and sultry lighting, a perfect setting to deep dive into a leg of lamb.

The menu at The Angel Hotel consists of Dingley Dell Pork, with a homemade apple sauce, roast leg of local lamb and a “blushing-pink” sirloin of Red Poll beef.

Meanwhile, The Crown, which has three AA Rosette serves locally grown produce.

Muddy Stilletos say that the wonky beams, little nooks and crannies and fireplaces make The Crown eligible for the list as well as a roast sirloin you won’t forget.
