Nine Below Zero and Dr Feelgood to appear at The Apex
Two of the UK’s finest Rhythm ‘n’ Blues bands – Nine Below Zero and Dr Feelgood (pictured above) – head to The Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, on Thursday, December 5.
Formed in 1977 and releasing their classic debut LP “Live at the Marquee” in 1980, Nine Below Zero toured with The Who and The Kinks and also appeared on “The Old Grey Whistle Test”, and “The South Bank Show”.
From the adrenaline rush of “Doghouse” through to the soulful stomp of “Don’t Play That Song” and new live favourites like “Ter Wit Ter Woo”, Nine Below Zero are still one of the best blues bands in the country.
Dr Feelgood formed on Canvey Island, in Essex, in the early 1970s and enjoyed a string of hit singles, including “Milk & Alcohol”, “Down at the Doctors”, “Roxette” and “She’s a Wind Up”.
The group’s original distinctive sound featured Wilko Johnson’s choppy guitar style and singer Lee Brilleaux, both sadly no longer with us.
The current line-up have played as Dr Feelgood since the early 1980s, with the addition of charismatic vocalist, Robert Kane.
There are standing tickets and a limited number of seats available – see www.theapex.co.uk or ring 01284 758000 for more information or to book.
