Man suffers serious head injury following altercation in Newmarket

A man has suffered a serious head injury following an incident in Newmarket.

It occurred between two males in St Mary’s Square between 5pm and 5.30pm on Thursday, October 31.

The victim was reportedly approached by an unknown male who is described as being a white male aged in his late 20s.

The two reportedly then got into an altercation in which the victim sustained a serious head injury and which police have described as a “grievous bodily harm” offence.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any images or footage that could assist the inquiry is asked to contact Suffolk Police, quoting crime reference 37/62161/24.
