“The most wonderful time of the year” by Thurston CE Primary Academy
Thurston CE Primary Academy held their Key Stage 2 Family Christmas Carol evening at St Peters Church in Thurston last evening, Tuesday 17th December, and what a wonderful time the packed audience of Children, Mum’s, Dad’s and Grandparents were treated to with a fabulous performance from the cast of the school’s teachers.
The traditional carol service included all the favourites with Little Donkey, Away in a Manger, We Three Kings opened with a rousing version Come and Join the Celebration and finished with a great rendition of We Wish You a Merry Christmas concluding with a surprise attendance of Father Christmas accompanied by everybody singing Santa Claus is Comin ‘to Town. The highlight for many of us was a brilliant version of The 12 Days of Christmas featuring the deputy head Amanda Wigzell belting out the “5 gold ring chorus” with the audience joining in and nearly taking the roof off of the Church. All the teachers were great and really good fun but the spectacular Angel Gabriel performance and costume was a real hit with the audience.

Head Teacher, John Bayes thanked everybody for attending and was obviously very proud of his staff’s performance which also included four Dads from the audience who played the Shepherds “watching their flocks by night”. Mr Bayes told us that they wanted the event to be different each year and they certainly achieved the goal this year…….absolutely brilliant well done Thurston CE Primary Academy.

Afetrwards we were treated to Mince Pies and Mulled Wine, what a great night out!
