Work continues to repair and maintain stretch of A11

Work is progressing on schedule to repair and maintain a stretch of the A11 between the Red Lodge Interchange and the Fiveways roundabout at Barton Mills.

It started on Wednesday, January 8, and to complete the work on the southbound carriageway National Highways will need to continue with overnight southbound road closures each night this week until Friday (January 31), working from 8pm to 6am (weather permitting).

Work on the A11 northbound carriageway will then start on Monday, February 3, until Friday, February 7.

While the A11 is closed overnight, southbound traffic will exit the A11 at Elveden via London Road / Elveden Road / Station Road and join the A134 at Barnham. Follow the A134 south towards Bury St Edmunds and join the A14 westbound at junction 43.

Northbound traffic will follow the same diversion in the opposite direction and continue on the A134 to rejoin the A11 at Thetford.

A map of the diversion can be found above.
