Farmers to protest in 20mph speed limit on the A14 on Monday

Police are advising motorists to plan their journeys ahead of a planned protest by farmers on the A14 next week.

The protest will take place on Monday, February 3, between 10am and 4pm and involve tractors travelling in convoy at 20mph.

Full details of the route are as follows:

  • – The convoy will set-off from Levington and join the A14 westbound at junction 58 (Seven Hills) and travel to junction 43 at Bury St Edmunds (central).
  • – It will then exit at junction 43 and make the return journey eastbound, travelling to Dock Gate 1 in Felixstowe.
  • – Finally, it will circumnavigate the Dock Gate 1 roundabout and travel the short distance westbound back to Levington, where it will exit at the slip road between Junctions 59 and 58.

Motorists should expect delays during the day. Suffolk Police is liaising with organisers and other agencies to enable and facilitate a peaceful and safe protest.
