Two people arrested following stabbing

Two people have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Stowmarket.

Police were called at 11am this morning, Sunday, February 2, to reports that a man had been attacked in Liverett Gardens.

Ambulance crews were also in attendance and the victim – aged in his 20s – was taken to hospital for treatment.

His condition is currently described as stable.

Officers immediately began to make enquiries and located a suspect vehicle in Ipswich, which was stopped on Norwich Road at 11.35am.

The driver – a 60-year-old woman – was subsequently arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.

At 12.25pm officers attended an address on Grimwade Street in Ipswich, where they arrested a 26-year-old man from Needham Market on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Both suspects will be taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre (pictured above) for questioning in due course.

It is currently understood that the victim and suspects were known to each other.
