Teenager stopped in Needham Market sentenced for drug supply

A 19-year-old man who was stopped and caught in possession of cocaine in Needham Market has been given a 20-month custodial sentence.

Razvan-Crisstian Haidau (pictured above) of no-fixed-abode, was stopped by officers when driving in Needham Market on January 2.

During a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act search officers located cocaine in the vehicle.

The 19-year-old was subsequently arrested and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre, where he was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine) and using a motor vehicle without insurance.

He pleaded guilty to the offences at Ipswich Crown Court and was sentenced to 20 months detention in a young offender institution, while a forfeiture order was made for the car he was driving when stopped by police.

The arrest and investigation was led by the Sentinel West team.
