Work to improve slip road off A14 leads to overnight closure

Motorists have been warned that the westbound slip road of the A14 at the Tesco’s junction in Bury St Edmunds is to close next month.

It’s for National Highways to carry out resurfacing work along with anti-skid and traffic signal maintenance .

It is to take place over five nights between Monday, March 10, and Saturday, March 15, with work taking place between 8pm and 6am, weather permitting.

To carry out the work safely, the A14 westbound junction 43 exit slip road (Tesco) will be closed with a diversion introduced.

It will continue westbound on the A14 and take the next junction 42 exit slip road (Westley Interchange) and take the fifth exit to rejoin the A14 eastbound carriageway when drivers will be able come off the A14 at junction 43 and continue their journey.

A map of the diversion can be found above.
