Country music and rock guitarist Albert Lee to appear at The Apex next mont

Known for his fingerstyle and hybrid picking technique, Albert Lee (pictured above) needs no introduction to country music and rock fans.
An exceptional guitar player, he has worked with some of the world’s top artists, including Emmylou Harris, the Everly Brothers, Dolly Parton and Eric Clapton and he is to appear at The Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, next month.
The British-born musician started his career during the emerging rock ‘n’ roll scene of 60s London, when he swapped bands with the likes of Jimmy Page and Chris Farlowe.
After moving to the US and assimilating himself into the country music scene, Albert quickly garnered a reputation as one of the fastest guitar players in the business and one of the most in-demand session guitarists on the scene.
He’s the co-writer of “Country Boy” (recorded by American country music artist Ricky Skaggs) and writer of many other great songs.
He’s recorded a number of solo albums and won a Grammy in 2002 for his contribution on “Foggy Mountain Breakdown”.
Double Grammy Award Winner, Albert is also an accomplished piano player and has a fine singing voice.
Albert was a member of The Everly Brothers Band, Emmylou Harris’s Hotband and Bill Wymans’ Rhythm Kings and toured extensively with them. He also toured with his own band, Hogan’s Heroes for many years.
He is at The Apex on Thursday, March 27, with his signature Ernie Ball Music Man guitar and his UK band, performing songs from his latest album, “Lay It Down”.
