A Haverhill primary school will host the town’s newest nursery after it was awarded a government grant to open a provision for three to four year olds.
Work will begin this summer at Place Farm Primary Academy, as part of a rollout of 300 new school-based nurseries across the country.
Executive headteacher, Jane Sendall, said: “We are all very excited to be able to provide nursery places at Place Farm.
“There are huge benefits to having a nursery class including the fact that we can provide high-quality early education for our children and families.
“There is also the opportunity to develop expert-led learning, through the CUSP Early Foundations curriculum, to provide our children with strong foundations for lifelong success.”
The new nursery provision is due to open in the autumn term and will have space for up to 26 children.
The school successfully bid for funding from the government’s school-based Nursery Capital Grant 2024 – 2025, which will see a total of 300 new school nurseries opened and up to 6,000 new places offered.
