‘Britain’s Got Talent’ singing sensation Tom Ball is heading to the Apex

The year after his runner-up debut on BGT in 2022, Tom Ball (pictured above) made his big reveal as Noodle the cat on BGT in 2023.

Unveiling his dramatic makeover, there was no doubt he’d transformed from a baby-faced, jolly drama teacher to a potential star and he is coming to The Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, later this month.

His first TV experience on BGT saw him described as “the best singer ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ has seen in 16 years” by Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell telling him he was “simply sensational”.

Following Tom’s incredible “glow up” (after his original BGT appearance) and his viral success as a golden buzzer finalist on “America’s Got Talent: All Stars” in 2023, he has amassed over 90 million views online, achieved eight international iTunes No.1 rankings, and celebrated a Top 5 debut album “Curtain Call”, released by WestWay Music, a prestigious label renowned for their West End and Broadway talent.

Tom says: “It sounds a bit corny but honestly BGT and AGT have truly changed our lives. Those experiences opened doors for me to travel the world, fulfil my dream of making my first album, and embark on exciting tours.”

The album “Curtain Call” highlights Tom’s incredible vocal range as both a performer and interpreter of songs and has led to comparisons to the likes of Michael Bublé and Michael Ball.

“Curtain Call” features a mix of both covers (including the likes of “Stand By Me”, “Feeling Good” and “Writing’s On The Wall” which started his BGT journey) and original songs.

“I knew certain songs had to be in there for myself as well as for my fans. ‘Writing’s on the Wall’ had to be the first track on the album; it’s where it started with BGT and changed my life.

“It made sense to top the album with that and tail the album with the last song that I sung on BGT, “I (Who Have Nothing)”.”

This thoughtfully conceived album has been years in the making – predating BGT, and the product of a youngster who fell in love with musical theatre at eight years old.

Tom went on to gain a degree at the well-respected Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, but despite achieving top awards and the much coveted “Ian Fleming Award for Musical Theatre”, Tom, like many, nearly fell through the cracks.

Although he set his sights on teaching, which he loved, he decided to give his dream one last go, with his application to Britain’s Got Talent.

He says: “I feel extremely excited to be heading out on my first major solo tour; I can’t wait to share some of my favourite songs with fans.”

Tom Ball is at The Apex on Sunday, May 18, at 7.30pm. See www.theapex.co.uk or ring 01284 758000 for more information, or to book tickets.
