Two men charged with drug offence appear in court

Two men have appeared in court charged with drug and other offences in Bures.
Officers executed a warrant at an address in the village on Monday, May 12, where a quantity of cash and drugs were seized.
A man aged in his 50s was arrested at the property, and another man, aged in his 40s, was arrested out of county.
Steward Howard, aged 51, and 49-year-old Robin Clague, both of Friends Field, have subsequently been charged with the following offences
- possession of a controlled class A drug, namely cocaine, with intent to supply;
- possession of a controlled class B drug, namely cannabis, with intent to supply; and
- concealing/disguising/removing criminal property, namely cash.
Both appeared before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court (pictured above) on Tuesday, May 13, where they were remanded by the court to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on June 10.
A third man, aged in his 20s, was arrested in Assington on May 12 on suspicion of money laundering and being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug, namely cocaine.
He has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries, until July 21, 2025.
