Pupils at St Gregory CEVC Primary School, in Sudbury, were given a unique insight into the world of housebuilding when representatives from house builder Taylor Wimpey London visited the school for an educational presentation.
The visit took place as part of Taylor Wimpey’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and education, especially in areas close to its developments.
St Gregory’s is located near the company’s Westland Heath development and the school welcomed Mateusz Tarchala, Mark Skipper and Carl Holyrod to share their expertise.
The session covered various aspects of the housebuilding process, from planning and design to construction and sustainability.
Pupils had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the built environment and the careers involved in bringing new communities to life.
David Hawkins, the project manager at Taylor Wimpey London, said: “We were delighted to visit St Gregory CEVC Primary School and talk to the children about the exciting world of housebuilding.
“It is important to inspire the next generation and show them the value of creating homes and communities.”
Daniel Woodrow, the headteacher at St Gregory CEVC Primary School, said: “The children really enjoyed the talk and, judging by their answers and how interested they were, it looks like we have a lot of budding builders, architects and landscapers here at St Greg’s.
“We are really proud to have been part of this project and to have helped link Sudbury’s past to its future in such a special way. “
