Suspected arson incident at Barton Mills

A suspected arson is being investigated by police following an incident in Barton Mills.

Police officers were called to Tuddenham Road at approximately 10.50pm yesterday, Thursday, June 12, following reports that two unknown people were seen acting suspiciously around large containers stored near a field.

Officers attended and saw that a fire had started inside a container, which had caught light to items inside – including a lawnmower and a motorbike.

Officers called Suffolk Fire and Rescue to the scene, and conducted a search of the area but the suspects were not located.

No one was injured as a result of the fire.
