Fire at Moreton Hall Preparatory School treated as arson
A fire at an abandoned building today (Saturday, July 4) on the Moreton Hall Estate is being treated as arson.
The emergency services were called mid morning to the former Moreton Hall Preparatory School on Mount Road.
The road was closed at 11.20am but reopened at 12.45pm.
The building is abandoned, and the fire is believed to have been started in one part of the structure.
No one was hurt in the incident and the fire was safely extinguished.
Witnesses or anybody with dash-cam or ring doorbell footage that may assist the police investigation are asked to contact Bury St Edmunds CID quoting CAD 130 of the 5 July 2025.
