Man in court today after being arrested in Bury St Edmunds town centre

A man charged with multiple offences is due to appear in court today (Monday, July 7) after being arrested in Bury St Edmunds.

Albjon Metlekaj, of High Street, Hounslow, Greater London, was taken to West Suffolk Hospital complaining of chest pains on Sunday after he had been remanded on charges including intent to supply cocaine and motoring offences.

He absconded last night but was arrested in the town centre at 5.30 this morning.

Metlekaj, 20, will also face an additional charge of escaping from lawful custody.

He is due before Ipswich Magistrates Court (pictured above) this morning.

He had originally been arrested in Newmarket on Saturday afternoon.
